Project Name: 1GX CoE Testing Support Project

Scope:

1GX Center of Excellence (CoE) manages and oversees the performance of the Government of Alberta’s (GoA) enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, 1GX. The CoE has overall accountability for service delivery and associated contract and vendor relationship management. 1GX is the core ERP(SAP S/4 Hana) solution for GoA functional areas including human capital, supply chain, financial, and treasury management. 1GX CoE also provides strategic leadership for the ongoing enhancement and development of 1GX applications to meet the GoA’s evolving mission and continually changing business environment.

The 1GX Process and Technology Stream coordinates operational activities and implements projects, strategic goals, the strategic roadmap, and vision of the 1GX program in the Government of Alberta with focus on the 1GX integrations, interfaces and technical components of the 1GX(SAP S4/Hana) solution.

The CoE team is initiating a project to migrate HCM Integrations to the Integration Suite platform, a prerequisite for the Payroll H4S4 project. This initial migration will set the stage for future migrations of 1GX interfaces. Successful migration will demonstrate the Integration Suite's long-term viability, enhanced monitoring, and near real-time communication capabilities. We are looking for an Integration Suite Testing Analyst to ensure we get success in these projects.

The Integration Suite Testing Analyst provides execution and facilitation of testing activities for 1GX projects, working with the 1GX team, service provider, and 1GX clients to plan, develop, and deliver major additions, enhancements, and re-engineering initiatives. The Integration Suite Testing Analyst develops, executes, and facilitates testing activities leveraging GoA testing standards, processes, and best practices to ensure a consistent approach to project delivery & implementation across the 1GX, CoE.

Under the guidance of the 1GX Manager- Process and Technology, this position provides support to the planning and execution phases of 1GX projects, working with support vendors and 1GX GoA teams to define project scope; develop work plans and sequences of activities; determines resources; develops schedules and allocates resources with a focus on testing activities.

Duties:

Under direction, support the following activities:
•Execute Smoke, Unit, System, Regression, UAT testing of newly developed integrations and interfaces
•Review, evaluate and provide test input during business requirements and design specifications gathering sessions
•Identify and communicate testing issues, implement process improvement and issue resolution
•Identify the target test items to be evaluated by the test effort
•Support in development and execution of test plans
•Define the appropriate tests required and any associated test data
•Gather and manage the test data
•Evaluate the outcome of each test cycle
•Identify the most appropriate implementation approach for a given test
•Implement individual tests
•Set up and execute the tests
•Log outcomes and verify test execution
•Analyze and recover from execution errors
•Track test results, statistics, metrics and status
•Attend necessary meetings to review testing inputs/outputs and provide status updates
•Support project team members in the analysis of issues
•Support project teams utilizing automated testing tools
•Support project teams to create knowledge documents and provide training to support teams


Equipment requirements:
GoA provides laptop 

As the resources are directed to work in-person, the GoA shall: 

Provide office space, furniture 

Ensure resource has access & credentials for network 

The fixed rate quoted must be inclusive of all overhead, office space & equipment, including supplies, administrative burden, mark-up & all other costs to perform the Services for duration of Contract. 

Working Hours:

Standard Hours of work are 08:15 – 16:30 Alberta time, Monday through Friday excluding holidays observed by the Province

Work must be done from within Canada, due to network and data security issues.

It is anticipated the role will be 100% remote, however in the event of an onsite meeting, the GoA does not pay for travel to attend on-site meetings, nor any expenses related to relocation, commuting, housing/accommodation, food/drink.

Mandatory Training Courses:

• Once hired the resource will be required to complete all mandatory training which includes but not limited to Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and Security awareness training. There may also be some optional courses as well.


Anticipated Interviews dates

• Will be held between October 17-21.
